Vacation: Where are we going? When are we going? How are we going? What are we going to do? After the details are determined then the adventure begins. Vacations are all about the journey. My objective was to unplug from my regular routine and to let go of the daily task and embrace vacating for a short period of time. We had a wonderful family vacation recently with all the joy of rest, relaxation, sight seeing, and plenty of laughter. One of the treasures I found was a new perspective and fresh insight that positioned me to keep the main thing the main thing!
Losing sight of our real purpose of loving God and others can happen when we least expect it. The details of life get in the way and blind us to what is truly important. Getting use to going through daily routine can create a rut that dulls our spiritual ears. We can stop being thankful for the little things in life.
Get inspired. Permit yourself time to do something totally different. Inspiration usually comes as we intentionally stop thinking about the task at hand and that is why vacations work. If we take time to relax and enjoy different surroundings it can produce insights and understanding about life. Our life!
The good news is we do not have to travel physically to take a vacation. Changing our route to work or to the store can bring a new perspective. Each day is bursting with opportunities for us to see and hear in a new way. Vacation is about the journey and life is the best journey of all!
Let’s get inspired and take a vacation break today!
